Deon Nel, Optometrist
Deon Nel is the founder and principal optometrist of Nel Optometrists and a well-known figure in the Kimberley community. For more than 30 years, he has served patients across the Northern Cape, building a reputation for thorough clinical care, trusted advice and long-standing patient relationships that often span generations.
Deon is committed to providing comprehensive eye care tailored to each patient’s visual needs and lifestyle. His approach combines clinical expertise with a practical, patient-focused philosophy - ensuring that every consultation is both professional and personal.

Jean-André Coetzer, Optometrist
Jean-André Coetzer is an optometrist dedicated to delivering modern, patient-centred eye care with a strong focus on clinical precision and personalised service. With seven years of clinical experience, he has a particular interest in comprehensive eye examinations and visual performance, helping patients find practical solutions suited to their daily lives.
Jean-André is also a keen golfer, runner and hunter, and understands the specific visual demands these activities place on the eyes. He often advises patients on tailored eyewear solutions for sport and outdoor activities, including specialised lenses suited to running, hunting and golf.
As part of the Nel Optometrists team, Jean-André contributes to the practice’s commitment to accessible, high-quality eye care while continuing its tradition of trusted service within the Kimberley community.

We provide you with the official Drivers Licence eye test report. For Skipper's licenses, you will be required to bring in the necessary forms to be filled in.
